Please do not send real passwords, seed phrases, payment cards, IDs, private photos, or other sensitive information in support messages. Describe the issue without including the secret itself.

Photos Permission

SecretScan needs Photos access to scan the items you choose. You can change access in iOS Settings by opening Settings, choosing SecretScan, then adjusting Photos access.

On-Device Scanning

OCR and detection run on your iPhone. SecretScan does not upload your photos or extracted text to SecretScan servers.

Common Questions

Why did SecretScan flag an item?

SecretScan looks for patterns that may represent sensitive information, including passwords, recovery phrases, API keys, recovery codes, payment details, IDs, bank details, addresses, and medical information. Some results may be false positives, so the app gives you review controls before you act.

Does saving a redacted copy delete the original?

No. Saving a redacted copy creates a new Photos item. You can choose whether to delete the original separately.

What happens when I delete an original?

Deletion uses Apple's Photos deletion flow. Deleted items normally move to Recently Deleted, depending on Photos behavior and system confirmation.

Why does iCloud download appear during a scan?

If original-quality scanning is enabled, Apple's Photos framework may download a full-resolution iCloud original to your device so OCR can read it more accurately. SecretScan does not upload anything to iCloud.

How do I restore Lifetime Pro?

Open SecretScan, go to the purchase screen or settings, and choose Restore Purchases. Purchases are handled through Apple's StoreKit using your Apple ID.

Is there a subscription?

No. SecretScan uses a one-time Lifetime Pro purchase.
